Brewster Rockit is a great cartoon that I've been following in the past year or so. Here's a different kind of... piggy, mentioned in a strip from January 14:

Hindu pork deity!
This is something that had escaped me. Apparently, there is an Hindu deity (an avatar of God Vishnu) that has the face of a pig. A boar to be precise, and it is called Lord Boar or Varaha.
You may also see a painting of Vishnu (if I'm not mistaken) with all 5 avatars here.
For the record, the guys and girls in the picture below are supposed to be... indian pigs! I had a hard time telling!

Pig in the bleachers...
I love Steve Moore's "In the Bleachers" comic series. The daily strip of September 16, 2010 featured a rare pig reference. Enjoy...

Pigs in Rob Reiner's "Stand By Me"
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I recently bought the Special Edition DVD
for my collection and I was surprised to find a little piggy in a scene.
At about 9 minutes into the movie, as Gordie enters his late brother Denny's room, we see a wooden pig hung on the wall, with the words "Pride - Integrity - Guts" written on it. Now that I think of it, this counts as a double P.I.G.!

The pig in politics
A rare gem: An 1881 article of the New York Times discussing a French embargo on American pork, by a protectionist French minister of Agriculture. The pork embargo was finally repealed by the subsequent French government of Mr. Gambetta, comprised of free-traders.
