Pigs in Rob Reiner's "Stand By Me"

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I recently bought the Special Edition DVD for my collection and I was surprised to find a little piggy in a scene.
At about 9 minutes into the movie, as Gordie enters his late brother Denny's room, we see a wooden pig hung on the wall, with the words "Pride - Integrity - Guts" written on it. Now that I think of it, this counts as a double P.I.G.!

The pig in politics

A rare gem: An 1881 article of the New York Times discussing a French embargo on American pork, by a protectionist French minister of Agriculture. The pork embargo was finally repealed by the subsequent French government of Mr. Gambetta, comprised of free-traders.

Barfy the Pig: Fan mail

Very cute cartoon video, starring Barfy the pig!

More "pigs and French politics"

Would these be called... Sarkochoneries?

Former President Chirac and current President Sarkozy never were in best of terms...

Presidential foul language, unsuitable for young porky...
(Inspired by an incident in the 2008 Salon de l'Agriculture)

The President of the French Republic and his wife??? I will file my papers to become a French citizen tomorrow morning!
